ASN Bank issues its inaugural bond under the European Green Bond Standard: € 500 million SNP notes
On 20 October 2025, ASN Bank successfully issued its first European Green Bond (EuGB) Senior Non-Preferred (SNP) notes, with a size of € 500 million. The notes have a term of 7 years and a coupon of 3.375%.
The SNP notes were issued in accordance with ASN Bank’s European Green Bond Factsheet. The issuance follows the voluntary guidance provided by the ICMA Green Bond Principles, as outlined in ASN Bank’s Green Funding Framework 2025. An amount equal to the proceeds will be used to refinance loans for the acquisition and ownership of buildings aligned with European Taxonomy standards, as defined in the Factsheet. With this latest issuance, ASN Bank's total outstanding green bonds increased to € 4.3 billion.
The issuance is in line with ASN Bank’s capital planning, which is based on meeting the MREL requirements as from January 2025 with subordinated instruments, i.e. Tier 1 capital, Tier 2 capital and SNP notes with a residual contractual maturity of at least one year.
The green SNP notes will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
